Tips to increase the ROI of your pay per click campaigns

In this fast changing world of advertising, you need to make sure that you keep up to date with the latest advancements in pay per click terminologies. In order to get the most out of your pay per click campaigns, I have listed a few tips that might be useful while optimising your campaign in order to get the desired ROI:

  1. If you are a small business, you might not be able to afford to advertise on the Google Display network. By default, this option is enabled for all your campaigns, while activating your campaigns make sure you select to advertise on Google Search and its partners only.
  2. If you do business in one location, then selecting the location from the locations and languages settings might be a good option for you to advertise.
  3. If you are in an industry that doesn’t get any leads / enquiries on weekends, it might be a good option to advertise from Monday to Friday only. You can get even more specific by selecting the times of the day you wish your advertisements to run.
  4. If your keywords are receiving too many impressions but no clicks, delete the keyword. If you are getting many impressions but fewer conversions, optimise your campaign by adding negatives to stop irrelative traffic.
  5. Try to write creative advertisements with the correct landing pages. This way you can get a high Ad rank and might pay less than your competitor, even if you are ranking higher than him.

In a nutshell, it’s important to test, refine and optimise your campaigns from time to time. This will help to keep your costs down and get a better ROI.
