Keep your target audience interested
It’s really important to stay focussed when writing content for your website. Too often you can veer off on a tangent and end up writing an article that is not relevant to what your website is about or the products you are selling. That is why it’s so important to know your target audience.
What is your message and what is your goal?
It’s worth thinking about what you want to achieve from the articles you are adding to your site. Yes, more articles will mean more pages. Yes, more articles will mean more long tail key phrases. And yes, offering content that people will want to read and use can be really beneficial. However, if you don’t know your target audience, it’s not worth the effort you put into each article.
Are you directing the articles at novices or experts?
Have a think about the type of people who will be using your website. Will they be industry professionals? Are they just there to browse? Do they need specific information?
If you can write articles around the products you sell, give further information about them or even give advice on using your products, the people who buy your products may visit the site again, which in turn may lead to further sales. If the information in the articles is too basic or too complex, you will turn away your readers. That is why it’s so important that you write articles for your target audience.
